Since we are closing out the month of December, we need to put the spotlight on a Sagittarius girl. Our Sagittarius girl of the year is actress, model, singer, songwriter Hailee Steinfeld. Hailee was born December 11, 1996, making our girl Hailee only 20. Get ready to be jealous ladies, because this girl is simply amazing!
She is known for her portrayal of Mattie Ross in True Grit (2010), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, but even more of us probably know her as Emily junk, the awkward acapella singer in Pitch Perfect 2.
Since Pitch Perfect 2, our girl Hailee Steinfeld has been blowing up for singing the cute, inspirational song Flashlight in the 2015 film, which if you haven’t seen this film go grab yourself a copy and snuggle up with your besties.
All millennial babies should know the movie Pitch Perfect as it featured the hilarious Fat Amy, showing us another side to big girls, that they could be fun, attractive and extremely entertaining. The movie also featured great acapella and all around great music and talent and launched Hailee into stardom. She was no longer someone you might have seen in some B-movie role. She was famous.
Let’s face it, girls, it’s easy to be jealous of this girl because she rocks. Not only is Hailee extremely successful as an actress, but she just landed a recorded deal and has been blowing up all over the globe for her music. My favorite song by this Sagittarius girl is ‘Love Myself’, a hit single released through Republic Records.
The reason I love this song is because it’s a love song to YOU. The lyrics are literally, “I love me. I’m going to love myself. No, I don’t need anybody else” This song is something every young woman should have on her iPod as it is spreading a very EMPOWERING message. As a music lover, I get sick of love songs.
So much of the music industry is composed of love songs. What if you are single? I think it’s time artist write more love songs to the individual, songs about loving ourselves, and Hailee Steinfeld started that trend in 2015.
